Visit Virginia’s Maple Festival

Looking for something fun to do this weekend?  Head west over to Highland County, Virginia for the last weekend of the Maple Festival!  Mom and Dad used to live in Monterey just up the street from the courthouse, so I’ve enjoyed many visit to Highland County.  If you’ve never been, you’ve missed a great adventure from visiting the various maple camps & watching  Virginia Maple Syrup , to pancakes, Virginia maple syrup and sausage in Blue Grass, to all the venders and crafts for sale to maple doughnuts (we’ve been known to bring a dozen bake and keep them in the freezer for a special treat later in the year).  No matter you age, you’ll find plenty of interest at the 53rd Annual Highland Maple Festival.  Heck you might even want to stop by one of the trout farms or trout streams and caste a line in the water.  Make sure to say hello to my Brother Hank at the Maple Doughnut stand!
