Wow, it’s another beautiful day in Central Virginia! Today would be a great day to slip the canoe into the Rivanna River at Milton (Albemarle County) and float down to Crofton (Fluvanna County). Perhaps take the fly rod and fish for small mouth bass. Thomas Jefferson helped design and build locks on this section of the Rivanna River during the 1700’s. Check out the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, Rivanna Conservation Society, Thomas Jefferson Soil and Water Conservation District and Fluvanna Historical Society for more info on the Jefferson’s River and one of Virginia’s Scenic Rivers. Off to work today but one day soon I’ll be canoeing the Rivanna River!
