Louisa County, Virginia

Since the sAugust 23, 2011 5.8 magnitude earthquake truck outside Mineral, Virginia, earthquakes and aftershocks remain the topic of conversation in Louisa County.  On
Tuesday, September 27th a public information session on earthquakes and aftershocks will be held 7 PM at the Louisa County Middle School.  Dr. Russell Green and Dr. Matthew Eatherton from Virginia Tech will cover many topics including home safety information, earthquake science  and prediction, plus the possibility of additional earthquakes in Louisa County.  Come out and learn about the science of earthquakes and get your questions answered.  If you have questions on the information session, please contact Jaclyn O’Laughlin (public information specialist) via e-mail olaughjm@lcps.k12.va.us  or by phone (540) 894-5115.

Louisa Cares (A movement providing a venue for Louisa County  to heal; an event to focus
fundraising efforts to assist our community) will be holding an event on October 14, 2011 from 6 PM to Midnight in the Jungle (Louisa County High School’s football stadium) to raise funds for the Louisa Education Foundation, the Fluvanna/Louisa Housing Foundation and to bring the community together for some fun!  Food, fun, raffles, moon
bounce, and bands will provide many venues for fun with fireworks at midnight.  If you would like to donate a raffle item or volunteer contact Louisa Cares.  Come out on the 14th and join in the fun!

If you have real estate questions, I am here to help, so let’s talk!
