Spring in Louisa, Virginia

We’re going to have a beautiful Spring weekend in Louisa County!

Start your weekend off with First Fridays music in Walton Park, Mineral, Virginia.  Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the Beach Music of the Embers.  For only $4 adults can enjoy the music from 6-9 PM with food available from 6:30-8 PM.   Friday evening will also feature the first in a series of public interactive events around “Dialog and Discovery: 100 Years of the African-American and Women’s Experience in Louisa County.” by the Louisa County Historical Society.  Friday evening’s forum will be held in the Louisa County Public Library from 6:30 -8:30 PM.

Fun at Lake Anna

Saturday looks to be a great day to head out to Lake Anna for fun on the water (currently looking at a high of 77* with little chance of rain!).  If you don’t have friends or family with a waterfront home, you can always head to Christopher Run or Lake Anna State Park to enjoy Lake Anna!

Trevilian Station on the Railroad

On Sunday starting at 2 PM the Louisa Historical Society in the Louisa Arts Center Auditorium Rick Britton, local historian, will present information on the 1864 cavalry battle that took place around Trevilian Station.  Attend and learn about the battle before the re-enactment 6/9-10/2012 at Brackett’s Farm.

Have a great weekend!  If you know of other events this weekend, please post and share, thanks!
