At Kamp Karen (our Louisa County, Virginia home between Zion Crossroads & Gordonsville) we try to support Virginia Agriculture. We love the pasture raised Angus Beef we get from Foods for Thought, Inc. (they even let us bring our grandchildren out to the farm to see where their food comes from and feed calves!).
We’ve also joined Liberty Mills Farm Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) where we enjoy a weekly harvest of produce. As always, we visit Carter Mountain Orchard, Chiles Peach Orchard, and the local Farmers Markets. Do you know where to find Virginia Grown (Agriculture and Forestry) products around the Commonwealth of Virginia? Check out the Virginia Grown web site! It’s got lots of great info. Perhaps we’ll see you at one of the Virginia Grown sites this summer.
I almost forgot, Pack 143 that meets at Zion United Methodist Church (Zion Crossroads), planted a garden to help with the churches food pantry! Don’t forget the less fortunate this summer and donate some locally grown food to a food pantry near you!
