Had several business appointments in the Shenandoah Valley (Rockingham and Augusta Counties) on Thanksgiving Eve so my bride Karen decided to ride with me. What a beautiful day for a road trip in the Valley! About 1:00 PM we decided it was time for a lunch break and headed to Mrs. Rowe’s Restaurant. When we’re within 30 minutes of Mrs. Rowe’s there is no other place to go (except maybe Wrights Dairy Rite Drive In for the onion rings and milk shakes). Mrs. Rowe’s Family Restaurant has been family owned and operated since 1947 making it a Shenandoah Valley landmark. They’ve been named one of the 7 best breakfasts in the South by Southern Living magazine.
If you have not tried Mrs. Rowe’s are near the intersection of I-64 and I-81 in Staunton, Virginia stop in for a great Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. It’s great country cooking! Today I had pinto beans & onions with corn break while Karen enjoyed turnip greens, stewed tomatoes, spoon bread and a side order of the pinto beans. There is even a Mrs. Rowe’s Cookbook so you can create the meals at home or they have frozen entrees and sides to go!
Enough on Mrs. Rowe’s time to take some venison out of the freezer and do some prep work for the Thanksgiving meal at Camp Karen. Looking forward to gathering with family and friends tomorrow. We are truly blessed and have so much to be thankful for! If you have questions about Mrs. Rowe’s or real estate, let’s talk!
