This Saturday and Sunday (July 9 & 10, 2011) present great fun activities in Louisa County, Virginia. Come on out to a great county located between Charlottesville and Richmond along I-64. I am not even going to talk about the fun activities on and around Lake Anna!
Saturday
Crossing Pointe Farm (also for sale www.JamesDickerson.com ) hosts the Louisa County Agricultural Fair’s Horse Show starting at 8:30 AM. Conveniently located near Zion Crossroads. Come on out for a horse show and cheer on your favorites while supporting the Louisa County Ag Fair and the riders. My sister and I enjoyed riding and showing horse back in the day so I’m really looking forward to spending some time at a horse show again (yes it’s been a few years but who’s counting!). I hope you’ll come out and join us.
Sunday
Virginia remains blessed with numerous great wineries making for great Sunday afternoon destinations. Cooper Vineyards produces my favorite Norton (native Virginia grape) wine and I need to go stock up. This Sunday afternoon features acoustic music at no additional charge. I think we’ll escape to Cooper Vineyards for a relaxing afternoon. The new tasting room features lots of energy efficient and green design so it’s worth the visit to check out the tasting room with the wine, music and fun as an added bonus!
As always, if you have a real estate question or are ready to buy or sell a home farm or land, I am here to help, so let’s talk!
Your comment, ~ “Cooper Vineyards produces my favorite Norton. . . . “. We live in SC and have to make a pilgrimage to Cooper’s every few years since they cannot send wine to SC as they had done in years past. Luckily this wine gets better when stored for several years. What are other Norton wineries that you tend to like?
Thanks for the comment! The Norton does improve with a few years of aging. I also like the Horton Norton (they also have a very nice pear port and blackberry wine). We’re fortunate to live in Central Virginia within on hours drive of many great wineries so it is fun to go out and try new wines. Virginia just changed some of the laws on wines July 1 so they may be able to ship to you again. It would be worth checking out. This weekend Cooper releases a rose! Not sure if we’ll make the release or not. I end up working a lot of weekends. Have a great day!
