RE/MAX Assured Properties REALTOR® Recognized for 425 Volunteer Hours in Last 12 Months

Charlottesville, VA — September 5, 2013 — CAAR, the voice of real estate in the Central Virginia region, has announced James Dickerson as a Good Neighbor Award recipient. This recognition program highlights local REALTORS® who dedicate significant time and interest to projects that make a lasting impact on our communities.

are thrilled to recognized James’ leadership and commitment to these wonderful community organizations. His volunteer work is something that our membership looks to as a model for their own service projects,” Denise Ramey, GRI, CAAR president and director of relocation at Roy Wheeler Realty, said.

Dickerson has dedicated some 425 hours to volunteering for both Zion United Methodist Church and Widows Son’s Masonic Lodge over the past 12 months. A Zion UMC member since 1991, he currently serves as worship leader once a month, regularly volunteers as a lay minister to visit the ill, shut-ins and elderly who are unable to attend weekly worship as well as serves as chair of the administrative council. Dickerson was an integral part of establishing a preschool, and youth and family programs in its new Family Life Center

“Jim does a tremendous job for our church and is so well-liked by our community who come to worship,” David Lagerveld, pastor of Zion United Methodist Church, said. “He has served many roles throughout the years and puts his whole heart into helping the church.”

Dickerson’s prior leadership of the Widows Son’s Masonic Lodge makes him well-suited as the current district educational officer for the 18th Masonic District, training other members for leadership roles around the state. In addition to visiting the lodges in the district and making recommendations to the Grand Lodge he manages three rental spaces owned by the Masonic Corporation. Above the time commitment, Dickerson has contributed significant personal funds to these causes.

An active member of CAAR since 1992, Dickerson participates on the Public Affairs Master Group as well as regular association meetings. A $100 donation was made to Zion United Methodist Church in Dickerson’s name.
